Huntingdonshire Green Party has announced that Catherine Goodman of St. Neots will be the party’s candidate for the upcoming by-election for the St. Neots Eaton Ford ward. Polling day is on Thursday 21st March 2019 between 7am and 10pm.
Catherine Goodman, who lives in St. Neots Eynesbury will fight in the election which was brought about by the resignation of former Town Councillor Charles Rogers, who step down from his post due to other commitments.
Catherine Goodman said “It’s a great honour to be selected as the Green Party candidate, though we are upset that the election has been called, instead £5,000 of taxpayers money will be wasted”.
She continued: ” As the Town Council faces financial troubles, I want to reassure residents, that if I’m elected I will ensure those who failed to see the Council’s troubles should have acted sooner. Instead it leaves services under threat and possible services being stop altogether. I will work for Eaton Ford residents on pushing and fighting for the Council’s finances to be brought under control and into a healthy position, but also to work for residents and their issues on a daily basis.”
