The Greens were the only political party apart from the Conservatives to increase their seat numbers in the Suffolk County Council election on May 4, going from two councillors to three with the wins of Robert Lindsay in South Suffolk and of Elfrede Brambley Crawshaw in Beccles who both took seats from Conservatives.
Both these two have been selected parliamentary candidates for the Green Party in South Suffolk and Waveney respectively, while Bury St Edmunds’ candidate is again Helen Geake, the archaeologist who lives in Woolpit. Suffolk Coastal’s candidate is Eamonn O’Nolan, Ipswich is Charlotte Armstrong. Regan Scott will be contesting Central Suffolk and North Ipswich while Donald Allwright, a Haverhill resident, is the Green candidate for West Suffolk.
Suffolk Greens have also launched a Crowdfunder to raise money to campaign in the very short time left.
